the plasti dip on my b frame pillar started to peal off thanks to the seat belts. I repainted it with bbq pain and a gloss sealent. It looks almost the same as dip and wont come off.

I'm so glad this trend caught on. Now I know who to avoid at meets and on the street.

That is all.

If we were in person I would still ask why you need to paint random pieces on the car permanent or "easily removable".

Have you seen some of the DIYs lately? Now there is some creativity. This is just taking off a piece of plastic and painting it to be "different". When in fact it makes the car look cheap. I don't want my car associated with cheap mods.

*begin rant*

And then I would chuck Norris kick you in the face for being a douche... Anyone can say WHATEVER they want on the Internet! Doesnt mean they will do said thing in person. Every thread the freakin same. One dude saying how its lame and cheap. Who gives a $h*t !!

*end rant*

Anyway plasti dip is the stuff for small projects that otherwise would be a pain in the butt. Anybody with the rear chrome piece on the trunk like on the 08 wrx sedan understands!

Obviously it is for looks, and at least it isn't NA imprezas putting on hoodscoops and spoilers and those STI-styled "2.5i" stickers (like that's anything to brag about, with a whopping 100 whp).

Not to mention the illest/bro/"funny" stickers, anything "jdm yo", etc.

Most guys are scrapping it off when they put tires back on. 3x5 cards and you're good to go.

Cool Im gettin excited after going through this thread. I didnt realize this stuff came in so many colors and came off so easily.

I want to see what my white hawkeye will look like with variety of colors so I ordered matte black, matte white, blaze green, blaze yellow, gold metalizer, glossifiers, and I got the smoke cans for headlights and tailights. I got 3-8 cans of each colors so I can try different mixtures.

Is the copper over black better than the gold over black as far as looking like oem STi bbs gold wheeels?

After looking at google images... I think I should have got copper. So I am ordering Copper now and I wonder if using it as a primer for the gold or vice versa would look ok. I have black graphite colored wheels as my real base color

I have copper on black on my wheels. Its more brownish bronze then the gold on black.

Gold on black will look gold, copper on black is bronze.

And who cares what people think or post. I would avoid anyone whose username includes Altezza.

best thing I have used for painting rims is cheap printer paper cut up in 4 squares. I borrow paper from work lol. Should be getting the plasti dip smoke on friday. I will do a video with it the flat matte and after I gloss the lights.

Index cards work well. They're stiff enough to fit around the lip between the tire and rim and create a cone or funnel shape around the wheel. Some people recommend spraying the tires and peeling off the excess afterwards, but take it from me that's a PITA.

When I did mine by the time I was on the second coat of gloss the thick layer on the tires were already falling off, you can see it in one of the pics, actually.

Just rub some tire shine on the tires before you do it.

Username? That's all you got. I would expect more out of some plasti dipping non turbo douche from jersey. Buy a real car.

Oh and I forgot to mention join date. That too. Lol. Carry on with the dipping of plasti.
