So I just spoke to Subaru and my block is torn apart at the moment. It has a bent rod and horrible compression. The funny thing is it wasn't running bad just a very minor amount of smoke. No indication of the bent rod. All compression results were horrible though. The lowest was 69 and the highest was 117 all are out of spec

You can do a compression test yourself you just go but the reader and then pull a spark plug one at a time plug it in and crank the motor a couple times

Advance auto store place got them? I'm afraid to do this because I don't want to know the results.

I know how to do it...well I got the basic idea. I heard pulling the spark plugs are a PITA.

It is a PITA. It takes a lot of patience. But if you know what your doing it, it can be done in about 35-45 min

Yeah the spark plugs are a bitch just cause of the location I had to Jerry rig a bunch of sockets the first time I did mine and it took about 2 hours but yeah that's the worst part about all of it

Hahahaha. Jerry rig sockets? Well I'll give it a try when my HHG arrives. I spent Christmas and New Years with no furniture. It's all the interferences that make it hard. It's probably easy to do...IF you can get to it.

Yea, you gotta take off the intake, battery, washer fluid reservoir, and possibly a few other small things.

Yeah. I've seen it. Thinking of changing my plugs this weekend. It's 07 with almost 90k with no spark plug change out. Timing belt needs to be changed soon too. I might to do that one.

Yea. Would be easier to do it all at once. I would recommend a gates racing timing kit.

Oops, I meant to say that I might pay someone to do that. If I get my new forester before that THEN I might do it myself
