Default Exhaust 06 2.5i impreza

Right now I'm sitting with the stock exhaust and I thought I'd venture out and finally start putting some work into my subie.

I've had the subie for around a year now and I've had no problems thus far so I'm ready to start working on it.

My question is, What's the best way to go in the exhaust area. I'm trying to keep the subie sound and not go fart cannon honda. I know if I wanna get that Boxer rumble I'd need to switch my headers to Unequal but I feel that's a project for later.

Ive heard some good things about the Blitz Nur Spec-R, Supposedly it keeps the subie sound and is pretty loud with a low rumble when idling.

I've read through that sticky multiple times, but it's basically just looking through pages and pages to find an actual post about the mods they've done to there 06 2.5i, so rather then skimming through over 50 pages looking for maybe 12 useful posts. I'd rather have 1 post where people can give me direct idea's specifically then just reading what mods they had put on theres.

Exhaust's are based off personal preference ie opinions. What may sound good to me might not be what sounds good to you. BUT if u want to know what I think about the blitz nur spec r it sounds good lol. What I did to find my exhaust was youtube and meeting up with other 2.5i owners with different exhaust applications.

I'd suggest looking for an uel header first, otherwise your going to have a very different sound if you get a catback done then switch to uel headers.

The 06-11 headers are very good el headers and will be hard to hear the boxer sound at all if any.

Pm me if you have any questions on uel headers.

It all depends on what you want it to sound like and how much you're willing to spend. Personally, I just wanted something slightly louder than my stock exhaust so i picked up a used STI catback for $100 and its perfect for my needs. It is by no means loud, but it is the sound that i wanted. I would love to have a nice UEL set up but I don't have the money for that project right now.
