It doesn't look like it but is there an adapter or anything for shiftboot to connect to on the 5MT?

^^^ This! Lol. I hope the large one feels a lot like the Cobb knob it will be replacing, weight-wise.

Installed the shift knob, but there is no way for the boot to attach to the knob. Instructions say to snap the boot attachment mech from the oem knob , but on the 2011’s, it is glued in and cannot be removed without breaking it. Do you guys have the piece to send to me?

Here is a pic of the sticker and a couple other views of how I put it on my WRX.
Nice Knob easy install. FYI there is a void under the adjustable piece so you can zip tie and stuff the shift boot up under.

I did. It comes off relatively easy. Just go slow the glue is not too strong. When it is off then it's easy from there, use a small zip tie and then screw on the knob.

i really like this knob but i have a jpmcoachworks boot made of alcantara and i dont want to risk damaging it while taking off the collar.
why was the base made like this?

It was made to more for the STi's since they have the reverse plunger. It will install well even with your collar on. Just use the supplied zip tie (after you have the shifter set in place and before you clip the alcantara boot to the shift surround) and tighten the zip and slide it up as high as to touch the knob bottom. You will not run into any issues that way.
To clearify, the zip tie will be only around the shifter not the boot at all. I hope that makes sense.
