Default Car will not turnover sometimes

OK so I just bought a 06 STI and everything ran perfectly for about two weeks. I would start it and drive it for about 10 minutes every 3 days, but just this week it started to have some problems starting. I figured the battery connections were loose so I took them off and reconnected them. Started the car up and thought OK that did it. When I went out to the car 3 days later it would not turnover again, so I jumped it. It started off the jump so I figured that it was the battery so I took it down to get the battery replaced. Left it with the people for about 2 hours came back they said the battery was fine, but they started the car right up and parked it over there. I walked over the car and the keyless entry would not work any more... I opened the car with the key turned the alarm off and tried to start the car, again the engine starts to turn over and dies. Again I jump it to start it, it does, sounds fine drives fine, so I drive it home. Turn it off and back on it starts up fine. The next day does not start again. I have read some other post with similar problems and most people are saying it is the ground does this sound right? Please help before I drive it an hour across town the get it repaired.

Car info
SPT intake, KNN filter
Killer Bee Ultimate Oil Pickup Line
Killer Bee Radiator Shroud
Cobb access port V1, Stage 2 map
Perrin Catted DP
Borla Hush Cat Back Exhaust (dual tip)

FIXED!!! It Seems that one of the keys was damaged or messed up in a way that the car would turn on and die soon after start. It would work 50% of the time with that key and will start perfectly with the other key.

When I say it starts to turn over I mean the car starts for like 1-2 seconds and dies.

After I jump the car it runs flawless... and sometimes it even starts without having to jump it... I think there is has to be a ground wire somewhere that has a bad connection, and it is getting bumped somehow to make it start sometimes. Check engine light never comes on. I don't believe it is the fuel pump because it runs fine after jumped... but I guess the pump could be going bad and working intermittently.

It starts, runs for a few seconds, and shuts itself off?

Turn the headlights on (when it's dark outside!) and try to crank - if the starter just clicks, but the lights stay on, it's the starter.

If there's a click and the lights go out, it's the battery or connections.

So I went out to the car this morning to look at the ground wires, and figured I would start the car to see if it would turn over... It did. I drove around for about 20 minutes, parked the car, turned it off and waited for 5 minutes. The car again started right up again, then I had something to do for about 30 minutes. Again went back to the car and it would not turn over. So I thought you know what I'm going to get a video of the car starting for you guys. Which did not happen because when I got around to doing it, an hour or so later It started fine again... So ATM I still confused at what I thought it could be... When it fails to start again I'll post a video so you guys can get what I mean by starting up for a second and shutting off.

I had a similar problem with my 06 (as far as I know) on it's original battery.

went to advance auto parts, they tested the battery. it was putting out like 190 cranking amps. (should be like 450 or 500 iirc)

new battery time, they had a 25% coupon code for ordering online so I stood outside and ordered the battery on my phone, walked in and showed them the receipt #) they came out and installed it. no more problems.

BTW IT'S YOUR BATTERY

did you read the whole statement, it went a little something like:

which I don't buy, they probably checked the voltage which would be 12, but the actually cranking amps can still be gone. (as in my post above)

yeah, he never said it was replaced, he said it was checked. just because it checks fine doesn't mean it IS fine. i had someone one time that was having the gauges and everything die after about 20mins of driving at speeds above 50mph. i told him it was the alternator, he had it checked, checked good, and drove away. it happened again further on down the road, he stopped and had it checked again, it checked good, and he drove away. it happened yet again further on down the road, and he called me again. i told him to stop listening to the guys at autozone and just replace the alternator. so, he replaced the alternator, and never had anymore issues.

...point is that auto parts stores are just parts stores. they diagnose bad parts to help people out, but that doesn't always mean their diagnosis is correct everytime, especially when 90% of the employees at these places have NO CLUE about actual car repairs.

Jesus another one of these threads? Im doubtful its the battery.... yes it very well could have a bad cell. BUT here is what you fail to understand, even if the battery was bad, it still starts the car at times as the OP states. But then shuts off!!! Thats not battery related!! The alternator alone can keep the car running for a amount of time, if the battery was truly garbage he would also be getting a constant battery light, brake and ABS light on the dash. Op has yet to state these lights being on!

So Op, as i stated in the other thread that was started today with similar complaint and video. Its either ignition related or immobilizer related. Does youre security light on the dash blink when the car dies after you start it, or when it wont start at all?

Other thread with video.

My bad battery didn't cause battery brake or abs light to come on (not even once)

Glad you got it sorted out OP, and if you're battery is original? replace it as a precaution. I'm surprised mine (and yours) lasted as long as they did.

Interesting side note, a friend (also with an 06) had to replace his battery about 5 months ago.
