Default New or Used

Hey guys I've looked around a little bit and didn't find a new or used thread so I thought I'd start one. What are things that you would want to buy new compared to finding a used one and vice versa. I'm curious about gauges; I'm interested in getting a set and I was wondering if I should just go ahead and buy all new Autometer gauges or buy a used set of Defi's (since they are almost the same price). Let me know what you guys think, Thanks!

^^ I agree. I'm one for always buying new. That way you know they're dependable and have a warranty. Unless the part comes from someone you know and know how they treated it and it's a decent price. Always buy new IMO

Used for sure, as long as you do your homework. Which you would be stupid to not do homework for buying new anyway, so no real loss. When I am a student with a baby on the way, there really is no way to pay premium prices for everything, and you can buy a used good quality product or a new crappy/eBay product. I don't think everyone should do it though. I am the person that doesn't buy warrantees/insurance on anything, because if something breaks I can fix it myself for less...

Explain your reasoning.

OP Either or. I bought a used set of Defi's on here 4.5 years ago and they are 100% accurate and still going strong, just make sure they have all the sensors and read and sweep correctly.
