Default Weird idle issue

4EAT, Complete Cobb Stage 2, 91 Oct Map, 93 oct gas. Happens with any gas brand, tried swapping around. Plugs brand new. Oil with about 2-3k miles on it.

If I'm stopped at a red light, the car idles just fine. Then all of a sudden the RPMs slightly rise and the 2nd fan kicks on. It run for a few seconds then shuts off. A few seconds later, the fan kicks on again, etc.

Keep in mind this is in about 40-50 degree morning temps... or 60's ish we've been having in the evenings. I've never had this happen with my old '98 Impreza and know when the additional fan should be kicking in. It seems to kick on a lot more than normal.

Car runs completely fine. It just bugs me that it does this.

I did read about that.. probably should have been more specific. Mine only rises about 200-300 RPMs, never going above 1k RPMs. Seems like many of the people with the CC issue have theirs going up to 2000, 4500, etc.

Either way, I'll check it.

true, but many people are also manual/5speed and when that happens they are in neutral, you are not.

Is the A/C or defroster on when this occurs?

Duh. Thanks.

You figure after 6 years of modding 4EATs, I would have thought of that...

That's most likely the issue. I'll check it out.

Haha, sometimes it just takes an outsider to look at a problem to see something simple you overlook. Hope it works.
