+1. I always seem to say the same to my gf when when one passes.

Im only 23 and have gotten 2 tickets. Both at the end of the month. One was 40 in a 30, but had just change from 50. Very small town speed trap in NH and I just was cruising on the nice summers day, not paying as much attention to the speed limit change as I should have. the other was 80 in a 55. Accelerated from about 40-80 from a huge open onramp to a 4 lane highway. Merged with a statey just emerging out of my blind a few lengths back.

both could have benefited from a detector, but more "cop awareness" would have easy been just as fine. Being safe about how you drive is better than any detector or cop awareness.

80 seems to be a magic number. Get stopped going 80+ and it's tough to get off. 70's, you might get lucky and you're less likely to draw attention. The staties would rather stop somebody going 82 than 77....

Pretty on topic I think, but are there much motorcycle police in New England? I haven't seen one yet, but I didn't know if that was just random luck.

In Washington, they started getting smarter to the ways of speeding. You hardly ever saw them anymore. Always on the on ramps or on the backside of a bridge. This is where the detectors could be useful. And they had a ton of guys on motorcycles. Never in the same spot. They would pull someone over and give them a ticket. From there they would just pull out their laser and get the next guy. Just keep going. And there you got pulled over for anything over 6 mph.

There are several in central mass. My town has a couple and all the surrounding cities/ towns have at least 1 a piece.
