So I started out not wanting any gauges in the car and actually thinking about just doing something similar to a GT-R type setup on a touch screen. After much debate, I finally decided to just by Defi gauges, but I didn't really like any of the pods that I used in the past, such as the pillar or clock pod gauge holders. So when I saw the SMY cluster in the GR cars, I knew that's what I wanted to go with.
There was some timing issues that they had to deal with, but I work for an Automotive Interior Supplier and I deal with Injection Molded Issues every day, so this was no surprise to me. I mean if I'm paying for something like this, I expect it to be top notch, if not I'd order something off ebay and hope for the best. When I got the cluster I gave it a hard look over. Like I said, I deal with plastic products EVERY DAY!!!! I found the quality of this part is great! No flash and only a very faint parting line at the top of the curve. Here is what was in the box: ![]() Front: ![]() Back: ![]() The color match is dead on imo and the material seems to be identical to the stock part. The part was shipped in bubble wrap, so when it got to me it had no scuffs. The install itself was easy. Just remove the two top factory screws and pull on either side, near where the two new gauges will be. Then I removed the two white clips from the back and used two flat head screwdrivers to take the holders off the steering column shroud. I took those part and placed them on the SMY piece. To reinstall the scs holders, I used a small socket. I only have two complaints. One is, the rubber bands that were sent to put on the gauges to hold them in place, are too big. I couldn't fit the gauges in, no matter how hard I pushed. So I stopped in the fear of hurting them. I ended up using the felt piece that Defi sends in their kit and it worked great! The other is the gauge on the left is slightly blocked by the signal switch. This one is not "that big of a deal", but just something that I wish was different. In reality though, I figure this is due to the allotted space for the gauges. This is in NO WAY a deal breaker for me though. All in all I am thrilled with the results! I would do it again in a heart beat!!! Installed: ![]() ![]() Many thanks to SMY for making a spot on product!

That looks good, but how many more of these threads do we need? This is, I think, the 4th one? Maybe just make one thread of this instal. OR, post it in the "pictures of your gauge setup" thread.
