Default Shift knob removal

Having issues removing my 07 WRX momo shift knob, just wondering if I'm a doing something wrong or if there is a trick to get it off? Could be that my threads are messed up but it just spins and won't back off the shift lever....

Should just unscrew. Try pulling up on it at the same time to see if the threads catch.

Funny I was just going thru the samething today, I pulled up the base that is attached to the shift boot and you should be able to seperate the knob from the shifter. It's the way the knob is pressed into the shiftboot, it seems like it just keeps spinning. Once you've loosen it enough you can just pull the knob from the boot.

Yeah, I used to just hold the shift boot from spinning and turn the shift knob, if you don't hold the boot it just spins the knob back. You can just pull the boot off the knob before you remove the knob though. It's easier that way.

Ha mine is stuck the same way. I have tried everything I could think of.

FWIW I have the momo knob on the Mode Racing double adjustable SS, which is the same as the Cobb one since they stopped making them for a shirt period. But it Will NOT delegate from the actual shifter. I can get it to spin around freely but all the might I I have can't get it off.

I've planted one foot on the drivers side and one on the passenger and pulled with everything I got. The top piece of the shifter slips out first, even when its as tight as possible.

And before someone says, Its obviously bot loosened all the way, it is. It spins 100% freely, but you can pull it off.
