Question Turbo back advice/rec's for 02 WRX

My '02 WRX with 150k+ miles needs a new exhaust, so I've decided to do an uppipe (car has the catted original) and full TBE. After a week of research my head is spinning from all the options out there.

I plan on keeping this car another 3-5 years (40-70k miles). I'm looking for a quiet, catted TBE that wont break the bank, and will pass PA state inspection. I've come up with the following options:

1.Cobb or TurboXS (the std muffler one) TBE + uppipe (easisest but expensive)

2.Mix-match seperate uppipe, catted downpipe, and cat back (compatibility issues between brands, could get expensive)

3.Cheap EBay/Godspeed TBE, with brand name axle back (cheapest, potential quality/fit issues)

Any ideas, advice, recommendations?

I just installed a TurboXS uppipe in my 02 wrx with 156,xxx miles to replace an ebay/noname brand one that rotted out. The TXS pipe is nice and fit great. Install was a breeze.

I did the ebay one despite what everyone hated on them. Fit all well except one bracket had to be man handled into place. No rattles, no leaks, loud as fuh but i kept the stock axleback to switch back and forth for long trips. Love it.

Thats good to hear. I may go that route instead of putting a $1500+ exhaust on a car I'll probably get rid of in a few years.

If you want to go cheap on the uppipe and do not want to worry about fitment issues, a used 04-07 sti uppipe(newer years might work also but I have no idea if they do) or a 06-07 WRX uppipe( same as before not sure if newer years would fit) would work just fine.

EBay and quiet do not belong in the same sentence, paragraph, or book. BELIEVE this. READ the post titled Exhaust FAQ right now. And Uppipe FAQ and Downpipe FAQ and you need a tune for all this, so read the Engine Managment FAQ. Hell....stop posting and read the damn sticky threads at the top of this forum.
