I was a bit skeptical at first with the sub box combination on how it would sound inside the cabin with the sub angled off to the side like that, but now that everything is in it sounds amazing and that Dayton 10 lives up to the great reviews I have read about it online.

Dayton makes some great stuff. Renowned in the DIY world, but not much beyond that. Great pick.

How are you liking the dayton 10 in that sealed box? Isn't the audio integrations box a little big for it? Have you broken it in yet and are their any signs of the cone heating up? Sorry for all the tid bit questions lol

I myself have 2 dayton HO 10's but I have yet to get to use them. Still building my box and what not. Shooting for 1.3-1.4 cu net ported tuned at 30 hz.

I wasn't sure at first about running this sub or the IDQ 10 (never heard either sub) but I am very pleased with it so far. Haven't really broke it in but it sounds good and clean which is what I was going for. The cone has gotten warm.

IDQ is a great brand as well. It's actually very well regarded in Car Audio. Surprised you didn't hear about them. Known for great sound quality.

I've owned many of image dynamics products from horns to IDMAX subs I have just never heard the IDQ in person.

What kind of tweeter mount is that? Is it something that came with the components?

It's called a braxial mount from CDT audio, the same company that made the speakers. Their newer components come with pre drilled holes in the basket to mount it. Mine are older so they do not have the holes but it was really easy to drill my own. I want to use the stock location for my tweeters but they were too big so I went this route. At first I was worried that the sound stage would sound to low by the feet but it does not. Woofersect.com sells them for $60 but if you call CDT direct they sell them for $30 + $5 ish for shipping.

Definitely good to know. I've got some ID components and that seems like a great easy way to handle tweeter mounting.

I'm really happy with how it came out and you could probably get it to work on something other then a cdt basket.

Bumping an older thread in hopes of a response...

What model of CDTs are those? Any issues with the braxial design fitting?

No issues at all. Speakers are CDT ES-620. To mount the braxial to the basket you just need to drill 3 holes, 2 for the screws and 1 in the middle for the speaker wire.

I've been wanting to do this to my CDT's. I shoe horned them into my 09's OE tweeter pods. But the sound is way to much in your face.

How do the tweeters mount to the braxial mounts? I've seen a side picture of the mounts. And seeing what mine look like with the back plastic half removed from the tweeter. I dont see how it would mount.

I could hook them up if i wanted to but the unit is so close to my hand already that I didnt bother to hook them up. If it was in my ford f250 I probably would have because the reach is a lot further then it is in the subaru.

There should be a plug on a wire coming out the back of the deck about the same length as the RCA's and it just looks like a regular headphone jack for a AUX cable.
