I know that feel. My Nexus 10 makes my GNex look like poo. The whites are better, the text and images are way sharper (pentile AMOLED ...). The only thing the AMOLED does better is black and wildly vivid colors. A non-pentile AMOLED or a higher resolution one would go a long way.

The AMOLED looks very cartoonish where as the Nexus LCD looks more true to life. Honestly I like AMOLED is great for a phone, but the tablet should be more color accurate for what I use it for.

Any suggestions as to why some .MP3 files will play and others won't for no apparent reason on my AOKP ROM? I've tried Winamp, MixZing, and google player and it is file specific, but everything looks fine and definitely using a .mp3 extension which should be recognized, verified via File Manager. Could it be something about it being on the external SD card? However some play fine....

Also, to add to this, these songs played 100% fine on my stock non-rooted ROM as I had them on for gym time.

When my E3D kicks the bucket I'm probably gonna buy whatever the best GSM phone is I can get and switch to ST with AT&T SIM (T-Mobile sucks in my area).

Has anyone picked up the LG Optimus G? I am considering it, and I know it is just a Nexus 4 with 4 G enabled, but the Nexus 4 is sold out currently?

I was checking out straight talk a few minutes ago and it looks like they offer a home phone service now. $99.99 to convert your land line phone to use the cell service and $30 a month unlimited nationwide and 1000 international locations. This is the nail in the coffin for Charter phone for me, who are currently $29.99 plus retarded international rates. I spend about $80 on home phone plus international calls a month.
when our contract is up with Att we are switching to straight talk for cell phones. $105 a month unlimited, 2 phone one with international sure beats $149 with limited data plus about $50 in international calls.

I'm the opposite. I always prefer looking at my galaxy nexus over my nexus7.

Both are grainy compared to the N10. The screen really is impressive, even compared to the iPad 3/4 screen.

The Gnex is awesome for the wow factor and making iPhone owners think their phones are dull, dim crap displays. The GNex/GS3 at full brightness is pretty impressive. But it is still very poor at accurate color representation if that's your thing. Like I said, that's not important for me on a phone. On the tablet I'd like that more. For some reason, I find less eye strain on the N10 screen compared to the GNex as well. Even with text size and brightness comparable.

I'm curious to see what Samsung can do when they get The ultra high resolution, non-pentile units out. It seems like they are dialing in the whites and color representation with each revision. And there are rumors of a 1080p AMOLED for the SG4 next year. It will be cool to see. Because honestly, at 720p, the Pentile still creates for fuzzy text and lines. Is really starting to bug me about the GNex.

I'm not comparing the gnex screen to the n10. I haven't seen one of those in person but I'm sure it's stunning. I'm just comparing samoled to slcd. Slcd isn't bad but I really prefer the warm and vibrant color saturation of samoled.

Anyone have or had issues where they lost copy & paste functionality on their phones?

I'm currently stock ICS 4.01 on my rooted GS3, AT&T version. I had full copy n paste abilities until about a week ago, I noticed, while I could select, highlight and copy text, when it came time to paste, I lost the option to paste when I held down on the screen where I wanted to paste text. Only the clipboard option shows and clicking on it does nothing, and now not even the clipboard option doesn't show.

I downloaded Clipper apparently to manage what was copied in my clipboard and nothing shows up, so now I don't think even the copy text function works.

I've been reading various Android forums and others have had a similar or identical sounding problems, but I haven't found a solution that works for me yet. Open to any suggestions here.

Edit: I tried doing a backup on CW recovery mod, cache wipe and restore but it didn't change anything.

Does anyone actually own the N7 HSPA+ yet?

If so, does the standard N7 cover work on it?

hey james! yeah we're going to do the same when our contracts are up. They'll use the same att towers so we'll still get at least 3g/H+ or whatever if we keep our current phones.

just tired of contracts and paying that much to att.

Been having a lot of fun with this PhotoSphere feature. Not sure if it was mentioned but you can view the photo's on G+ and move it around just like on the phone now.

I'm eligible for an upgrade with Verizon as of today. I really like the Galaxy Nexus I have, but I coveted the original Note when it came out and I really want a Note II.

Currently I pay $55/mo for data/texting only. I usually use about 4-5gb/mo with the majority of it being Google Music.

I can upgrade and keep the same price but get only 2gb/mo. Putting music on an SD card I'm pretty sure I'd be fine but I'll miss the safety blanket of unlimited data.

or

I can keep my GNEX which is fine and just continue as I currently am. Tough call for me, but man I like that Note II.

I, for one, cherish my unlimited data plan and know that it is the end of the road for me as far as upgrade pricing goes. From here on, the only way to keep my data plan is to buy phones at retail price or buy them from Craiglist.

Also remember that as time goes on, you will consume more data and before you know it, youll be edging closer and closer to the 10gb tier.

Your decision basically boils down to how badly you'd like to keep your unlim data

When I'm home I'm on WiFi regardless and like I said easily 80% of my data usage is Google Music. It's a nice feeling knowing I won't go over a limit at all, but really if I keep my music on the phone(having expandable storage in this instance is nice) then I should be fine.

My mind isn't made up but I'm liking the new Note enough that it's extremely tempting.
