well to be fair most don't know anything about cars and I see more Mazda 3 hatchbacks than STI hatchbacks around.

Exactly why Subaru went with the clear headlights starting in 2012.

Everyone has their own strength and weaknesses. I honestly don't know how some people confuse a Subaru WRX or WRX STi for a Mazda unless it's a Mazdaspeed3. I can see someone confusing a 2012 Subaru Impreza 2.0 hatchback with a 2012 Ford Focus hatchback though.

I agree they can confuse it with a speed three. All in the hood design.

I've seen plenty of MS3's around, that at a glance look like STI's, especially black ones from a distance. They briefly fool me occasionally.

And can't forget the Subaru Smile that all the WRXs.........wait a minute......

Seriously though, I can kinda understand the confusion of the '08+ hatches and the Speed 3s. And look at that smile. That Speed 3 looks like a puppy that just got a new toy.

Right now in some parallel universe on a mazda forum, someone is saying "someone mistook my ms3 as a damn subaru!"
