Advance auto rents spring compressors for free if you guys need more. You pay full price and they just refund you when you bring them back.

Yeah, they have two types--one is meant for larger trucks. Just make sure you get the right ones and they work fine. You know the ones--little hook things that clip on to the outside of the springs and what not.

The other set has claw-arm type things and you are supposed to put them on the inside of the spring. How the hell you're supposed to put it there with a strut in the way, I'm not quite sure...

Exactly, this is the only set they had back when I tried. I know autozone carries the Macpherson strut style one.

Note to self:

Don't get aligned right after a spring install even if you need to drive many miles home.

I went in to get re-aligned today because my steering wheel was off center going straight. The before alignment print out from earlier today showed the complete opposite toe than the after alignment sheet from last night! All is well now, though.

6,000 mile warranty ftw

I think the springs settling into the struts more afterwards...

I haven't heard any sounds since unless I hit a massive bump at a good rate of speed. Example: full speed over speed humps that I forgot were in my neighborhood.
