Default not starting right

i have an 02 wrx stage 3 and it runs fine but when starting it i have to play with the clutch and the ignition i have enough volts battery and starter are both fine just have to play with it a little before it cranks any suggestions on what it is

Clarify what you mean by playing with it. First guess the clutch safety switch. There is a switch on the clutch pedal that requires the clutch to be depressed when you crank the car. Might be bad.

I had a similar problem with mine. Except it was more jiggling the ignition switch to fire. Went through all the simple diagnosis, finally got to ignition tumbler and on the backside I found 2 Phillip screws. As I cycled on and off the whole assembly rotated just a hair. Tried to tighten the Phillips and got maybe half turn. Cycled again and still rotated! Undid screws, noticed that the holes started to slot themselves . Physically held tumbler and my car fired up everytime.
So I just bypassed the start system and installed a toggle. Its my DD/rally car so im sure with all the bumps and humps its seen, loosened the screws just enough over time to cause this issue.
Not saying that this is your issue, but if you have done all the diagnosis and it still does it. Check the tumbler.

i mean by pushing the clutch in and out and simultaniously working the ignition until it starts
