Default Attention Rocky Mountain STi owneres, please enter!

Hey, guys and gals!

I'm giving up my life here on the east coast and am finally making the move to Silverthorne, CO.

Was going to prep my car for the trip/the winter out there.

Was curious, what brake fluid (DOT 4 or 5) do you use?

What weight/viscosity engine oil do you use?

What diff fluid do you use?

What trans fluid do you use?

What coolant?

Is there anything else I should consider to do as preventative maintenance when living at higher elevations/colder temps?

Are studded snow tires allowed out there?

Will be doing all of this at my house before I head out on the 16th and am lazy/don't have time to search for this information.

you'll get more responses from CO residents if you post on AWDpirates.net.

we are mostly SLC and the rest of Utah here.

Thanks, just joined and posted up there as well.

Much appreciated!

Still wouldn't mind getting some insight here, too :-)

my dd is NA, so i don't know if that matters.

Was curious, what brake fluid (DOT 4 or 5) do you use? i use amsoil dot5 cuz i used to race it and haven't replaced it yet. i'm sure stock or ATE Superblue would do fine for daily.

What weight/viscosity engine oil do you use? 10w30 conventional (no turbo)

What diff fluid do you use? stock?

What trans fluid do you use? stock?

What coolant? stock lol

Are studded snow tires allowed out there? yes, but studless snow tires are usually adequate (utah)

DOT 5 is NOT to be used in vehicles that come with DOT3 or DOT4. So get some ATE super blue and be set

What weight/viscosity engine oil do you use?
0-30 or 5-30 depending on how cold it gets where you are going

What diff fluid do you use?
Motul

What trans fluid do you use?
Motul

What coolant?
What ever autozone has. Coolant is Coolant

Is there anything else I should consider to do as preventative maintenance when living at higher elevations/colder temps?
Good tires

Are studded snow tires allowed out there?
If you need to put Studded snow tires on a Subaru, your better get a snowcat at that point. A good winter tires is all you should need

And I already have the studded snows (general altimax's) that's why I was asking.

They kick ass in the snow and shoot sweet sparks. I highly recommend them to all subie owners

And the rest of us who pay taxes to repair the damaged asphalt sure do appreciate that.
