Default Can't read v8 jdm ecu.

I am swapping in an ej207 into my bugeye this weekend. I swapped in the ecu to pull the map tonight but can't seem to get the car into test mode. I've ran into a few threads saying the cel didn't flash and fans didn't cycle but they were still able to read and write to the ecu. I've swapped my usdm ecu back in and can read from it just fine. I'm stumped :-(

Make sure jumperblock is connected, green plugs are connected, then make sure you turn the key and push the read button straight away.

The jdm ecu's are picky and you need to be quick to push the button in ecu flash, if fans cycle then you have waited to long.

I've been flashing my 02 for years so I'm aware of the quirkiness of these ecus. The jumper is jumped and the green plugs are connected. It's like the ecu isn't going into test mode. Even if I don't try to read the ecu the fans don't kicks on and cycle and the cel doesn't flash and the fuel pump doesn't prime.

I can't imagine it would matter which motor is in the car would it?

So the motor is now in, and the AVCS is wired and I still can not talk to the ECU. I was under the impression with the bugeye, the V8 swap would be plug and play with the addition of the AVCS wires. It seems like the ECU isnt powering up or something. I didnt try to start the car with the JDM ecu as I have 850cc injectors in there and run E85.

I'm bummed.

Solved this and never updated. It ended up being an immobilized ECU. They sent me a replacement and all is well in the world

Smile Correct ECU

Hey! Awesome to hear you're up and running!

I'm doing the same swap as you've just finished and have run into the same immobilized issue. The swap shop sent me a V9 ECU L300. They have a AH580, but I need to know if this will work correctly with a tune. I have the tune file to go into it as soon as the right ECU shows up.

What ECU did it for you? 22611......

Thanks for your help!
