Default Need help! Pothole damage

I hit a pothole the other day, and bent my front driver rim, and lost air in rear wheel. Upon inspection, tires look fine. But that's not the problem I'm posting about today.

After putting on new rims, 17" as opposed to 16" stock ones, I hear a slight rattle from the ?exhaust? and squeaks when I brake.

Does anyone in the Syracuse area have access to a lift, or ramps, and some mechanical knowledge, help me out?!

Turns out its a loose heat shield. And these guys from Craigslist are offering to change my brake pads and rotors (with wagner brand) for 280 all around. Good deal?

not sure which rotors and pads you're getting, but not a terrible price.

a good deal on the labor is about $150 from Subaru shops on this board. I know nothing about that brand of pad/rotor, so I'd be cautious unless you're okay with <OEM brakes. if it's random dudes coming over, I'd say $100 in labor is fair, and $180 is too much for a low-quality brake setup on a GC.

this setup is $190 + shipping, and is many people's favorite OEM replacement:

I, and many others, use the centric rotors on track because they are low-cost, quality blanks (it is also what NAPA sells under their name). I've never used the StopTech Streets, but a lot of people rave about them being better than OEM, and they are quite inexpensive.

if you're willing to learn to do this on your own car, you could probably find someone to help you out and teach you for a nice meal, some beer, or a little cash, and you'll have something that I suspect is significantly better than the Wagner setup.

agree with what growling_boxer wrote, brakes are pretty straightforward to do but if you aren't mechanically inclined it is good to have a friend there when you do brakes the first time. I would ask the Craigslist guy what just labor cost is and order the setup below.
