Default stage 2 experience

So I just wanted to share my experiene with going stage 2. So I have a 2012 wrx with a cobb catted down pipe thats it. I don't have all the info in front of me I will update later. But I got a protune from Dom and maxwell power and on his dyno he got 307 whp and 350 tq. at 18.5 psi. I don't really care about the numbers that much but gives you an idea if you know the Dyno. The power increase wow and the acceleration is super smooth. It feels 100x better. I will post all my dyno info when I can. I haven't had it for long so I will let people know about MPG how it changes since I always see a thread about that.

Quick questions. I'm guessing your running on 93oct? Also, do you still have a stock cbe? My goal was around 300whp/350tq which is pretty much what you have without changing the cbe. Some say the flow is not as good, others say it doesn't make much difference with these numbers.

Also, congrats!

Actually I am running 92oct gas and yes I have a stock cbe. My goals were the same as yours and didn't think I would get numbers like I did, but yet again all dynos and situations are different. It probably also depends on the tune.

Honestly, that's on par with most other Stage 2's with AP.

Na, unless he's hitting the drag strip often or drives like kidracer he'll be fine with the 5 speed. People keep thinking the newer wrx's still have the crappy OLD 5 speed that liked to eat 2nd gear.

I have had the car for awhile and have only launched it once. Was fun don't get me wrong, will probably try it once with the new setup but that thats about it. I like the twisties in the mountains. Other than that its my DD so I just set it on cruise control most of the week. If I do any more to the car it will be suspension, sways, tires stuff like that.

launching a stage 2 AWD car with a stock tranny.... do that around 5-10 times at 4k+ RPM and let us know what happens

oh and OP, those numbers are a bit high for just the downpipe and a protune. you'll come to learn numbers don't mean sh**... real results, like track times, do

I was thinking the same.

The 09+ wrx tranny will handle 350 tq just fine. I would not start to worry about the tranny until your approaching 400 tq.

If some of you guys are really worried, Moore is running a group buy on their blast plates ... Problem solved. Its not so much the gears, as it is the case flex that causes issues.
