Default 02 impreza wrx turbo

so my number 2 piston went through the block and my friend things i should just get a whole new engine. lets say i went this route is it possible to put a 2000 or 2001 impreza engine in it even if i dont get a turboed engine?

No, and my thought is why would you want that?

i cannot find a short block for sale anywhere man ive been looking and the only reason is cause im kinda strapped for money

used blocks are always a gamble, no matter how cheap.

new short blocks are under $2000 new from subaru.
