Default Best fitting ebay FMIC for 93 GC8

Hey was about to order a fmic for my 93 rhd gc8 got some questions

For starters most of them say for 95+ gc8.. but i cant seem to think of any difference between 93 and 95

So basically which one do most use ? also dont think its an issue but i want to keep my fogs!

Thanks alot

I asked the seller about this when I was considering this kit and there isn't a BOV flange. IIRC there is a 3/4"-1" nipple off the charge pipe for connecting a hose to the BOV.

It seems like the GC specific kits usually have a 12" tall core but the average GD kit has a 9-10" core. Can you mount the core higher in a GC? Or do they just hang lower?

Do most people get an RS style bumper when they do a FMIC on a GC?

i used the popular SSAC one on ebay and put hella 500s on my Vers 4 bumper but i had to modify the brackets and put them on upside down...not a big deal.

big issue that hasn't been mentioned here

the 93-95ish have a different manifold and the throttle bodys is 2-3 inches further back in the chassis ..
so most of the IC kits don't fit (i know the hard way)

Ended up ordering one! ill let you know how it fits when i take my car back out next summer, if the pipe isn't long enough to go to throttle body its fine i have some long silicone hose to put there! or if something needs to be moved ill have to tig up a storm.

Thanks everyone for the help!

Edit: didn't end up going with the m-spec .. contacted him with some question and he didn't seem to know what he was selling so meh

that one is a bit expensive

i used the CX racing oone for 264 on ebay

hotside fits perfectly
coldside, you basically need to trim the 2 pieces into 5 as well as bead and shorten the one that goes into the TB...but its cheap and is solid

^ Ya i was going to go with the cx but they wanted 165usd to ship it to quebec :P, so i went with the one in the photo below.

They have photos of it fitted with the fogs, and it was cheap and i have no issues fixing up fitment issues if there are some since i have acces to a TIG / MIG with a spool gun.

oh ok perfect then

on mine, the coldside was put together at the wrong angles, so i had to cut them at those points and reweld them.

Yep, I had the same problem with mine and had to cut the pipe, add a few couplers and a spool piece. My kit allowed me to keep the fogs though.

no beads = max slippage .. = dead on side of the road

^ Oh little tip to those who are looking for a bead roll replacement. Just grab a pair of vicegrips and bend out the ends of the pipes and spray the rubber couplings with hair spray.

In 5 years of running boosted cars i have never ever had one coupler pop off.

That's the one I'm using .
I'm a fan of the reverse tube set up, instead of the charge pipe making a 180 & going out the pass side fender , I used a silicone elbow & had it flow around the d/s of the engine & return on the pass side.
The kit does not fit w/ out some mods , I had to hack the inside of the fender ,cut & splice some misc pipes I had laying around .I'll post up some pics .But @ least I am still using my fogs .
Oh I also have a swapped Gc w/ a wrx manifold
