It's my insta-rice initiator, aka Cusco drift knob. I can pull up and release the handbrake freely.

Yeah I don't get this either, seems like it would complicate matters.

No. It's just for bling. I just started trying to use the handbrake at the school parking lot. I'm not the biggest fan, but it's something to do.

I get the bling, the product name just seems inappropriate for a RWD application.

All these pics of modified BRZ's really makes me want to get rid of my Spec B for one.

I will tell you that for a car so new, it's AMAZING how much support there is for these things. It's addicting. I'm sure Toyota-money helps quite a bit.

I bet.

I just need to figure out if I want to wait for the STI version of the BRZ or wait for the new STI to come out. I really like the BRZ I just have a hard time looking past all the numbers for it, as in the HP and TQ. It's probably all in my head though, but I have been driving 350HP plus cars for the past 10 years.

Nah, it's justified. I had been driving turbocharged AWD Subaru's since 2008, so jumping into the BRZ was definitely different. It really is rewarding in its own way, though. It CAN move out of its own way. You'll just miss stomping most cars on the road. BUT, even as you're getting stomped, people just admire the ride. If you don't drive like you have something to prove, people will assume that the car is faster than it is and they'll love the mysteriousness of it. "Is it FAST?! How FAST?!" Get a corner, and they are YOURS!

If you want something that's mechanically simple, handles predictably and gets better gas mileage, the BRZ (or FR-S) is the way to go. They're almost like little kit cars at this point, which is what makes them so fun to mod. You're not having to really worry about MOAR POWAH, just work on better suspension and handling characteristics, or aesthetics.

Definitely agreed. One of the main appeals, IMO, is that there really isn't much to it. Especially at the Premium level. You don't get the cool stuff that's fun, but you don't have to worry about reliability of that stuff in the long run. A brz is a car I could see buying and keeping for a long time, provided I could afford 2 cars.

But the 6"+ of snow today in Chicago is trying to convince me otherwise
