I see a couple auto-lock features. Does this mean your door auto lock when you're in the car and driving away? Any help would be great

That would be interesting if it did that, but I've only been in domestic vehicles that were automatic transmission that locked automatically while driving away.

The BIU setting to where it says, "30s" is how long I have to wait for the car to lock itself if I leave it off and parked, I believe... I haven't quite figured out the BRZ's timing. I probably won't for a bit since winter just hit and I'm used to pressing buttons all the time with the Subaru vehicles I've had previously.

Some of the settings we weren't positive about, so if we weren't sure then we just left them.

My favorite one that we activated is unlocking the passenger door when I press the button to unlock the car. That should be standard, but I know some peoples are scared of getting raped or having venom spit in their face by a dinosaur or something.

LOL.

Yo Chano - where's my giftcard ;-)

Anyway - you should be able to get this done for free. The BRZs are shipped WITHOUT the security system enabled from the factory and it requires a SSM to turn that feature on, and if you want other features enabled you should be able to get those turned on/off/adjusted at the same time.

Dealerships may or may not charge you for this..just depends on the dealership I guess.

I'll make a thread with the functions and what they do if anyone is interested...

Everyone would love you for that. I doubt FT86Club has one yet. I'd cross-post it over there if you made one. <3

You drink Starbucks? I didn't think they did gift cards for the cases of energy drinks you buy.

I'll post the thread after I get off work.

Kaitlin already made a thread stating how to get the BIU dealt with, plus I thought I told you when I text you about it? I know you're cool with your local dealer, so get 'er done, son!

I agree about the logos. I was just wanting something in a nicer plastic and figured if I posted it that someone would chime in. I'll contact WC Lathe Werks. Thanks!

Your wheels: Show them to me!

Edit: Need black http://lathewerks.com/shop/product_i...products_id=10

Thank goodness you looked into that. Stock is so cheap looking/feeling for the car. Everything else is pretty plush but that piece is just

I agree with Jive on this one, I thought Perrin's didn't have a logo all over it. But WC Lathe works should be able to fit you up real nice.

He has one for the STI. Perhaps if enough of us approach him, he'll make us something at a slight discount?

Here's my conversation with Chris today:

Me:
Quote:
Hello,

Have you confirmed if the STI reverse ring is compatible with the BRZ 6-speed reverse ring? Also, is there any way to get that reverse ring in black or as a more plastic/delrin-type finish?

Thanks!
Chris:
Quote:
Hey Chano,

The BRZ and FRS use an integrated reverse ring where it has a big bottom section that holds up the shift boot. The STi reverse ring is different because it's small on the top and bottom and slides inside a separate boot collar. The parts are not interchangeable. I do not have a BRZ to test fit to see if I can make a reverse ring for it specifically. My friend has an FRS so maybe I can look at it this weekend. Since the part is really wide on the bottom AND top, it won't be cheap to make though unless it's made from delrin/copolymer.
Me:
Quote:
Thanks for the prompt reply! After I sent you that email I realized that they most likely wouldn't be interchangeable, which is a shame. I was hoping for it to be Delrin, actually, because then it would match the Kartboy Delrin knob I'm going to get. Ivan Tuk sent me your guy's way and there are others that seem to be interested as well. I can create a thread to see who might be interested in a black or white Delrin reverse ring to see how many people are actually interested? I'm all over FT86Club and NASIOC, so I could get feedback pretty quickly.

Let me know what I can do to help on my end!
Chris:
Quote:
Ok I'll try to see my friend's car this weekend and let you know
If he thinks it can be done easily at all then I'll make threads to see who all would be interested. I'm thinking there would be enough between at least the two forums. I'm not on subarubrzforum.com, but maybe some of those guys, too.

Well hell...

If he needs a prototype we should just yank the one out of my car and mail it to him..

Not like I'll be using it anytime soon!

I'm sorry that I'm too cheap to buy snow tires for the damn thing.

Especially when I already have a perfectly good set of 15" blizzaks for this car:

Ugh! Would love to put 15" wheels and fat tires on this rig! I know it's possible, but I haven't researched which designs actually fit.
