These are 4.75" tips
![]() AFe Takeda catback For myself, I found a set of polished, 5" outlet, slanted, doubt-walled, rolled-edge with mesh lining at AutoZone. Cool store! This should be a fun custom exhaust build. Last edited by chanomatik; 11-02-2012 at 08:04 PM. |

Looks great! I picked up the JDM OEM tips (stupid expensive for just tips, but I hate the little ones that come on the USDM models).

Cool! I like those, too. I hate that we didn't even get those. Dang bean counters.

It's refreshing to read a lengthy explanation rather than: because racecar.

I just stumbled upon this article with pics of a BRZ in England that pretty much has what I've been aiming for: front lip, large exhaust tips and Prodrive GT1 wheels. ![]() http://www.racingandwaiting.co.uk/20...ory-tuned-brz/ ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

So are they saying that's a package that can be purchased at the dealer? If so, it seems odd that they're using an aftermarket lip and not the STi piece. Looks like the HT Autos one to me, and that always makes me think "Batmobile". It sticks out too far. I really want the STi one, but I'm too cheap at the moment.
Either way, this car still needs side skirts and spats to make any lip look like it wasn't just tacked on. I do love them Prodrives! |

I think I came across too negative. I'm just grumpy that I'm at work and there's really no point in being here today. Friday will be even worse...

Friday Worker! Sucker!
Yes, in England, Subaru sometimes allows dealerships to "upgrade" their cars while still maintaining their warranty. While I'm not crazy about the HTAutos lip either, I'm glad they're a heavy enough hitter to be considered as part of an upgraded performance package. I'm sure the dealership is thinking the same as you, "STI lip... but much too expensive." Even if I had the money, I'm still waiting for the rear spats from STI to be released before I venture towards the front lip and side skirts. I can't wait for us to start mapping out my custom exhaust set up! I hope it looks even half as good as I'm imagining it's going to be! I have no idea on what it'll sound like, but I think anything will be better than stock. Eventually I'd love to put in an intake and delete the sound tube. Haven't decided if I prefer GReddy or Injen... |

That makes sense. We get shafted here in the US when it comes to power or really just anything cool. I mean, so what if we have strict emissions, why can't I have the big exhaust tips that were designed for the damn car?!?!?!
I also want to see what STi comes out with for spats. I want the whole thing to work together, even the HT spats look goofy to me. I could live with the Chargespeed but I can't live with the price for something that's going to see wear. I just bought a Nameless axleback from another member last night after meeting up over the weekend to check it out. He drove me around a bit so I could hear it and his car felt much different than mine. The only engine-related mod he had was the Injen intake and I'm pretty damn impressed. The car pulled noticeably harder and I was surprised when he said it was just the intake. I thought he was tuned or something. To be fair, he also had RPF1s and those are really light. But still. I'm not sure how I feel about the heat-soak potential of the Injen, but I believe the dyno graphs that show tangible gains. I'll be installing the Kartboy pulley tomorrow or this weekend. I hear that's pretty noticeable as well. I'll know soon enough! |

This rally STI from Sverre Isachsen at X Games 16 will serve as my inspiration for the Tron-like scheme I eventually want for my car for autox.

That's not the point. I can have Clear Car Armor work on it. I'll have to come up with a design, but it'll be a blue vinyl following this rally STI's design. It inspired me when I first saw it and it took me a bit to find the original thread that showed it. It wasn't a big deal because Subaru apparently botched that event, so finding pics was a PITA.
Painter's tape would be fun. |

![]() We're going to try and make this Tron theme happen. They're excited! We'll go over the car with painter's tape first to get a layout of the contours and see what works, then decide on a blue that pops against the black paint. I'm excited! |

My automationLED.com LEDs came in over the weekend! 2 for tail light blinkers, 2 for head lights blinkers, 2 for side markers, and 4 relays for each blinker.
My STI clear side marker should be in this week. My STI Duracon shift knob should be in next week. My STI seat belt cushions should be in next week (thanks to Jive Turkey for showing them off!). My BRZ carbon fiber-look keychain should be in this week. Our family just ordered a Sony Alpha NEX-6 camera with standard zoom lens and wide angle, so you should start seeing more pics from me soon. I'm going to look into taking some classes to learn about photography. I have the imagination, just no technical prowess. Last edited by chanomatik; 01-07-2013 at 08:00 PM. |

lol STI side markers came in last week, I just didn't realize it! I don't think I'll have time to install them until this weekend, maybe.
