Default Long time no see

So i've been out of the subaru scene for almost 2 years, and pretty much out of the car scene as well. I've been in florida doing my residency and haven't had much time for cars. I had a 2007 WRX with lots of money into it and i wrapped it around a tree october of 2009 and got an insurance check and bought a 2005 grand cherokee. the jeep's been good to me but i miss having a fun car. i went from this:

to this

now that i'm finishing up my residency and literally my whole family bought new cars, my uncle got an MDX, parents got a cayenne turbo, sister got a mini s JCW, i thought it was time i treated myself to a new car. at first i was gonna trade my car for another suv like a range rover but priced out with ttt it would've been around 87k, a bit out of my price range, i looked at LR4's as well but fully loaded i was still looking at 65k, the dealer was only gonna give me 14 or 15k for my jeep and it's in great condition and quite honestly i really like it, it's fully loaded and runs perfect. I then decided to keep my car and buy a new "fun" car and find something under 60k. I was hoping to find something that wouldn't turn into a money pit, something a little more rare, and i wanted something new, after looking at everything under the sun i put a deposit down on an 2011 Alpine White 1M coupe, fully loaded, and paid MSRP, i'm expecting delivery around september. I'm very excited and can't wait to come back to virginia. see you guys soon. hope this one doesn't turn into an addiction like the subaru did.

update, so after taking delivery of the 1M i literally had it for about 2 months and was a blast but in hindsight i should've gotten an M3 which i might still have had i gotten it, the boost tube was constantly blowing off and the dealer would fix it(very simple fix) but they said the only way to stop it was to get a hard metal aftermarket tube, i got an offer for the car i couldn't refuse and i sold it and made a few bucks. decided i wanted to get back into an SUV about sept of 2011 and bought a fully loaded rubicon unlimited, put a lift on, wheels and tires some skids, and intake and exhaust.

about march of 2012 i wanted a fun car to put in the garage so while the jeep was at the dealer getting the heads replaced under warranty i bought a 2012 evo x gsr. which i immediately started modding and it kept me busy for a while.

so with the rubicon and evo i was happy for a few months, but had a bad taste in my mouth after the heads needing replaced in the rubicon at 14k miles. so around sept i decided to sell. lost a little bit of money but i was happy to be out of it and my tastes changed from an suv or sportscar to a luxury sedan, shopped around and looked at cls63's, e63's and m5's all 100k plus. i found a dealer willing to do 106k otd for a new m5, put a deposit down and about 2 weeks later ALL m5's and m6's in the country got recalled and flatbedded to the dealer for oil pump issues. after doing some thinking if any of you have purchased a 100k car about a year later it's only worth about 70-75k. 25-30k loss in a year didn't sound great so i started my search again. literally drove every luxury/sport sedan out including a fisker. i found an A7 and i was in love. not the fastest but plenty quick and absolutely gorgeous, had a tough time finding one and found one in the color and options i wanted in GA. flew to GA had limo service and drove it home

about that time i realized the evo wasn't for me either and without an suv and went to the dealer and ordered a 2013 raptor. i kinda missed having a big burly vehicle so i put the evo up for sale and got my asking price. i realized at this point how tough it is find these trucks. put a deposit down 10/2/2012 and picked it up 1/8/2013. i sold the evo around 11/20/2012 and the audi saw DD duties for a few months. so currently i have the A7 and the new 2013 Raptor

and a bad cell phone pic

the raptor's currently going through a whole lot of changes, including RPG stage 3 kit with frame supports, fox 2.5" air bumps, and national leafs, bakflip f1 tonneau, bedrug, magnaflow exhaust, RPG tie rods, RPG UCA's, Icon LCA Skids, Icon PSR, Rigid 20" light bar, Rigid Dually fogs x2, rigid dually flush mounts in rear bumper, 4" hid x on outlaw claw mounts, method double standard wheels 17x8.5 zero offset, mid perch front suspension, mag hytec diff cover, outlaw shock guards, sdhq abs/vacuum guards, feb 15 it'll be getting a full 3M 1080 Satin black vinyl wrap from a 3m certified installer, and last but not least a Whipple supercharger on mar 15.

no really i'm gonna do my best and be good, there aren't too many parts available yet for the car so at least i'll be limited on what i can do. i am however looking at a stage 1 tune(cobb or dinan), and the akrapovic exhaust, sounds amazing you can find a clip of it here. and maybe just maybe i'll do a downpipe.

link to akrapovic exhaust sound

trust me, school pays. i'm finally at a point in my life where i can do the things i want, it's nice knowing that if i want something i just get it, no longer on a restricted budget. the last 18 months have been a whirlwind, 5 new cars, a house, and a condo. biggest problem i have now is finding time to play with my toys. Can't wait to Supercharge the raptor, it is going to be soo much fun, it should put down at least 500+WHP. The audi does have a tune and it's putting down 352AWHP/337AWTQ on a mustang with torque everywhere it feels awesome for a blown 6 it is incredibly quick with a slick shifting ZF sourced 8 spd it's fast.

a few updates to what i've been up to. Raptor has been wrapped 3m satin black, and has gotten a full suspension upgrade to RPG Fox 3.0 shocks front and rear, Fox 2.5" air bumps with RPG frame supports, national spring 11 leaf packs, alpha 1 spindle gussets, ford racing cam covers, magnaflow exhaust, bedrug, bakflip, method NV's, RPG Tie rods, RPG Upper control arms, ICON LCA skids, rigid led lighting everywhere, and a ton of other stuff

Also got my 2012 audi a7 tuned by stasis, me being the cynic i am, i did before and after dyno runs at moore automotive in fairfax before and after the flash

Welcome Back Ray!

Nice Raptor. I've been seeing more and more of them lately. It's like tons of people can afford a $60k+ (guess that's what they go for) truck...
