Thumbs up Thanks!

Karen:

Thanks for the reminder, completely forgot I had already registered for this -- first sign of Spring

Hope the Clerk of Weather is on the ball, high of 49 doesn't sound too bad.

From what I saw on Yahoo, AI is still running the AWD classes, so John Pena and I will still be in ABS vice BS, right? (don't think the S2000 is registered in the right class but I might as well get used to running against them, since WDCR is running the Street tire classes, not the Pax'd AWD/FWD/RWD classes).

Registration starts at 0800 but first car off is around 1000. All the AI events are at Blue Crab stadium in Waldorf (11765 St Linus Dr, Waldorf, MD 20602; http://tinyurl.com/kbop7do). You'll see the course as you drive towards stadium on St Linus Drive, just go to the stadium's last entrance and drive over to a white canopy tent to sign the waiver sheet. You can get directions on where to park there as we'll.

If you'd like to ride along, you're welcome to knock on my door. I'll be in the dirty WRB 2010 STI, ABS 13.

Unfortunately, no. SCCA rules for minors requires them to be at least 12 years old to ride along. Both my kids enjoyed it, my daughter still does and may be there Sunday.

Your son would be welcome to sit in my car after a run and watch the GoPro video if you like.

Can novice racers play along too? I'm looking to get into autocross for the first time. I've spent the last 2 days trying to figure out what class I'll be in

Novices are more than welcome! If you're not sure what class, sign up for whatever, and we'll figure it out at registration. Worst case, it's probably SM.

That's what I was leaning on, I bought the car with blow off valve already on it and I believe the SM class allows it. Thank you.

Had fun despite the cold (the WRX was a HANDFUL - so glad we got to run an event before Dixie...). We were really happy to get out so early too!

When are results typically posted? Also saw someone taking photos - do you have an album somewhere with them? Thanks!

Would anyone be willing to have a phone conversation with me about what I will need to know before coming to one of these events? And some general questions about autoX

im no expert but i could give you what i know. its all much simpler than most make it out to be for the first time. bring a helmet, empty as much weight from the car as you can when you get there, or dont it doesnt really matter when you are starting out. nevermind the classes and dont feel like your car needs to be super hooked up to do it. in general any novice to the auto-x scene will not be able to out drive any car. there will always be more to pick up as you go no matter vehicle level. you are working on you as a driver at the beginning. run the gears, brake late, hit cones, spin out, have fun, get addicted, come back next month, repeat!!! lol.

pm me if you still wanna talk and ill try to help. im sure more experienced guys will also chime in. auto-x guys are pretty friendly and helpful from what ive experienced.

Results from the first event are now up on the site!

AJ Aviles took a bunch of photos, and he posted a link to them on the AI Facebook page.

And if you have any complaints/feedback about the site, yell at me, as I am the clown working on it.

In particular, I hope the "2014 information" page makes some sort of sense. But if it doesn't, autox anyway

Thanks! I mainly wanted to see how my husband stacked up. He kept the car going in the right direction on Sunday.

I didn't see the photos except the few from the new Pro challenge.
