Default 2013 Stock Flush Mount Cross Bars

So the dealer threw in the stock factory fush mount X bars for my 2013 WRX. I'm assuming they are fairly universal, or am I stuck with Subaru "Bike Carrrier", "Ski & Snowboard Carrier", ect...
Is the X bar mount universal (to Yakima or Thule accessories for instance)?
Additonally the 2013 WRX Accessories brochure is claiming "installed or removed in minutes". Does anyone change these out like thier shirts? If so what is your opinion on off/on wear and tear?

Thanks in advance!

The subaru branded bike/ski/whatever racks are all pretty much rebadged Yakima stuff. Myself and others have used INNO products with great success too. Just make sure it says it fits oem style bars and you should be good to go. I will say that as far as I know a lot of the Thule stuff doesn't fit without an adapter.

I take my rack off if I dont plan on using it for more than a week. It takes maybe 5 minutes at the most to take off and 10 to put on.

if your going aftermarket check here: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=1064456

oem ones will work. their bolted down to your roof. Thule and Yakima use the clip system and never have done the bolt down i believe which i thought wouldn't be a bad idea.

have fun with the crossbars!

The Stock Subaru aren't bad by any means, only thing that you have to watch out for is when you're buying a bike mount, basket, cargo box, etc. you check to make sure that it is compatible with aero bars, which is good as they tend to be quieter, I have seen some people complaining of noise, I personally dont notice it as long as i close the sunroof and cover, assuming you dont do much highway driving it should really affect you MPG, if you worried about that....

As far as installing and removing them, I made sure to attach my bike mounts so that I could pull the cross bars off with them still attached and treat it as one complete assembly, makes it much faster than having to attach each thing individually, although can be tricky to line up when you first set it up there.

Thanks to everyone who posted! I got it. Now it's just the dealers who won't commit that the 2012 products are also valid for the 2013 WRX. Can't see there being a change but...

Skip the middle man, just call SOA, I would think they wouldn't give you the run around...

Also, the dealer should have them in stock... Maybe they would let you test fit them or if you know someone else with 2012 bars you could give it at try...

I like this post. I'll try Yaks. I''m sure I can return them if the accessories do not fit. Mammoth opens soon, so I'll start with snowboard racks. I'll let you know.
