Default Painting interior plastic

Hey NASIOC! I want to paint the tacky silver trim around the shifter and in the air vents WRB.. Is this considered rice-y? If so I don't wanna do it. I wanna make my car look appealing, but not ricey. Thanks for any input!

If you like the way it looks, do it. Who cares what other people think may be "rice".

I say go for it

If you can paint match it accurately, I say go for it. Just don't pick a random bright blue spray paint, which I've seen done to STIs, and it makes me cringe. If you don't like it you can redo it in black. You can't go wrong with blacking it out, imho. And it's all in the prep work, I tried the plasti-dip method, and had to take it off because it was such a dust and dirt magnet, it's also so thick that it makes the panels tough to fit together. Going to long route soon and doing it right with real paint.

Who the **** cares what others think? Did they pay for your car? Then tell them to pound sand.

I got a quick question...

Anyone paint the silver trim in the 2nd Gen Subaru Imprezas black? Im thinking about doing it, figured it give it a classy-er look. Or repaint them darker silver. Wondering if anyone has photos that they can share.

And man, its your car, do what you want. Anything done to car will attract negative and positive comments. So dont worry. If someone gives you crap, ask them if thats their car. Usually shuts up my buddies when they gave me crap on my Mazda.

Your car, your mods. Doesn't matter if we think it looks ricey, do what you want.

There's not enough blue throughout the interior of that car to make it worth it. If you really want blue there tape off the majority of the grey and paint in some pinstripes or edge it blue. You loose tackyness once there's uniformity. It will still look slightly out of place as the entire interior is strictly grey and black but it will at least be subtle enough to not get judgements from others as you look for more wrb seats/gauges/radio/shift knob/ seatbelts/ key fob/stickers/ air fresheners/ stuffed animals/ vw bug style carnations. . . Etc.

I think what I'm going to do is paint the left and right Peices around the vents WRB and maybe outline the middle vents and controls in WRB but keep the majority of it black

Hey man do what you want it's your car, personally I'm not a big fan of the painting of interior pieces but if it's done right I guess it won't look hideous.
