Default From rally car to time attack and all that happened in between

Been around NASIOC for some time now but never really posted a whole lot. For the past 6 years I have been involved in rally, first as a crew chief for ACP (Andrew Comrie-Picard) and then on to a driver in the Canadian Rally Championship. 3 years ago I bought a 1997 Impreza coupe from my good friend. We built the car originaly in 3 weeks in preparation for Rally Perce Neige. Original setup was a Ver.4 STI swap with stock ECU. Car ran well but Ian waned more POWER!! So in went the Autronic SM4 and Franz Diebold tuned the car for 94.

Car looking great at Rally Perce Neige

With the added power this is how the car ended up.

So after the roll a new rear end had to be welded on to the car. Rear quarters, trunk and bumper. Some massaging of the roof and new hood were in order to bring the GC back to life.

Dressed in the new white paint the car looked great.

Some major engine bay clean up was in order removed all the old stock wiring and make a custom harness for the Autronic

Here is the car all ready for Perce Neige 2009

So after a really good winter rally I was disappointed that we didn't have more pictures taken of our car. Simple solution find the brightest color I could find in the Sherwin Williams color book.

Fresh and in GREEN!!

The one and only tarmac rally in the Ontario championship. Shannonville Stages. Well I went in to this one with just gravel suspension, no sway bars and Nexen tires. Good thing is was snow/raining all day because if it was dry i would have been the only guy without R compounds.

A lot of time and effort invested into that car, love it. Just not too fond of the green..

Tall pines rally 2009 a mad dash to have a new transmission installed with DCCD and the 08 STI intercooler fitted as well. All this work and a trip to SEMA had the team unprepared for our home rally. Car lasted 2 stages before we had major wiring melt down!!

With 2 DNF's in a row it was time to go for a major overhaul.

Let the overhaul begin!! Ver.8 STI engine and a complete over haul of EVERY wire in the car. Had to add some bling as well. Carbon door panels and floor protection. New switch panel and IC spray.

New engine new suspension new everything and 2 weeks until the first winter rally of the year. Needed some time to shake down the new car so we headed out the the MLRC rally cross in Bancroft Ontario. Car was amazing!!! won our class and had the fastest time of the day!! All that time effort and money all came together that day.

Big thanks to my fiance for sitting in the silly seat for this event.

Perce Neige 2010 New car running absolutely amazing!! Jen Horsey was co driving the rhythm was starting to flow and we were running better times than ever for me at PN. A aggressive drive on stage 4 found us doing a endo and loosing the front bumper. (sorry no pic's) They say in rally if you are going to go off do it in front of a camera and we did!!

So this was the corner that caught us out! it was glare ice and I totaly went in too hot and under steered into a piece of Canada! Damn Canadian Shield.

Time for Shannonville Stages 2010. This time I was going in prepared!! Proper tarmac suspension, sway bars and R compounds. Had a great day early on we set some top 3 stage times and the car was rocking!! I guess I was driving the car a little bit to aggressive and we ran out of tire!

Now on to one of the best rally's in the Canadian calender!! Rally BDC Baie des Chaleurs in New Richmond Quebec. Some of the best roads around and for sure the best spectators in Canada. This is where I had my best national finish ever, 15th over all. 42 entry's at BDC it was quite the achievement.

After a great finish at BDC I decided it was time to put the rally on hold for a while and get involved in some time attack. I ran all of the CSCS events this summer and had a great time!! I think I got bit by the tarmac bug. So now here we are Building a all out time attack car. As of right now I have the new motor and turbo set up going together. I'm working on the fender flares and aero package as well. As it all comes together I will post more up in this thread. ENJOY!!

HAHAHAHA had some old crappy gravel tires I was burning off in these pics

Now the next question should I paint the car and what color?
