02 WRX

Mods (bought the car with all of them so I'm not even sure if its tuned):
-Cold air intake
-Perrin fuel rails
-Injectors (they're pink so I'm assuming they are STi pinks)
-Tsudo axle back exhaust

This is exactly what my receipt says.

Definition
ááEVAP system leak detected- fuel cap loose/off
Probable cause
áá1.- Faulty fuel cap
áá2.- Faulty canister vent solenoid
áá3.- Faulty canister purge solenoid
áá4.- EVAP system hose malfunction

I replaced my fuel cap today and reset the CEL. The code came back.

Where is the canister purge solenoid located? I'll probably replace it on my own.

Don't throw parts at the vehicle, diagnose it first. You'll save yourself a lot of money in the long run.

Give you evap system a good check over, make sure you don't have any cracks, holes or missing lines.

You need to make sure the purge solenoid is holding vacuum, usually you can apply vacuum to them and it should hold for a period of time, there will most likely be a spec for this.

I'm not sure if there is a test for the vent solenoid, usually when we diag them at work we follow the diag sheet and if everything checks out ok then the vent solenoid is the only problem remaining.

If all is ok with the system and the purge solenoid then you could possibly have a bad vent solenoid.

Im used to doing evap system tests on Dodge's not Subaru's so if i've missed anything then hopefully someone else can chime in and correct me.

Hope that helps you a little bit.

I have an 03 that's doing this. Had to clear the code twice on the drive from Florida to Indiana. Taking it to the shop on Monday to have the system looked at. I'll let you know what they find.

Uh...... No. Search "P0457". You probably have a loose/cracked vacuum line.

Check all the hoses in the engine bay between the air filter and turbo inlet, check to make sure the gas cap has the seal and replace the cap first. Its about 25 bucks from Subaru. Has it had a fuel pump put in recently? Could be that gasket as well. Otherwise, start searching. This one can be a PITA.

I found this link but I don't see a blue nipple when I look down in there.

Behind/under the alternator, the blue nipple is a 'tee' so if it's not connected it's a vac leak.

The only T-connector down there is a black one with a sensor at the top of it..

And I don't think it's exactly a "T" it's just a 3 way

If you bought a modded car and are unsure whether or not it was tuned. Might not be a bad idea to have it tuned. Or at least have a tuner look at it.

Will do. Next thing I'm gonna do when I have the time and money is get an AFR gauge then get it tuned.

Have an 07 Sti, Broke the evap solenoid whenever i changed my p/s pump because the line/nipple relationship was uber brittle. Fixed with JB weld and CEL went away after reset.
