Default USDM Hazard Button.. Mod'able?

Sup guys,

So i recently installed a JDM hazard switch on my '04 STI. That also left me a spare hazard switch which I disassembled to satisfy my craving for, well... disassembling stuff. To my surprise, the USDM switch also has a lightbulb inside and the triangle hazard sign is actually translucent. To be honest, it was a bit disappointing to find out the factory USDM switch also lights up since the whole reason why I purchased the JDM switch was solely because of the illumination.

However, from as far as I can remember, I've never seen, read or come across any USDM switch that illuminates. Can anyone else chime in their two cents on this topic? If the worst case scenario is just a burnt out bulb, where can I find replacements or at least what is the bulb model/type?

I've attached some pictures to go along with the rant I'm making.

SON OF AH.. and all this time I thought Subaru was too cheap to illuminate my USDM switch making me buy a JDM one instead. DAMMIT.

Anyone have any idea what the replacement bulb type is at least?

I tried two different 02-04 hazards in my 06 and neither worked, I don't know if it blew the bulb or what.... Anyways the default 06 hazard light up and so did the JDM one, I don't know if that helps.

I don't remember the number but I know that you can buy the bulbs from radioshack for a dollar or so.

Thanks everyone. Already replaced the bulb on mine. I actually had to improvise on the bulb (soldered directly onto the terminal) since no place sold direct replacements which included the rubber socket.

@ Aegean - If only I saw your post earlier. :P

Unbend the wires out of the rubber socket and you can use a new bulb in it

I did this a little while ago, when I noticed that my USDM Hazard light wasn't illuminating. The $2 Radioshack #7219 Microlamps work perfectly. You just have to disassemble the button, unwrap the old bulb, and trim the leads. Took me all of a few minutes to do. Easy fix!

Can you not just switch the two faces of the button? Knowing one of them lights up?
