I need some help trouble shooting my car I dont know how to explain the sound coming from the engine but here is a video that shows the sound im getting (not my video). I will try to post my own video later.
The car basically just cranks but never starts. Any ideas of what it could be? The sound seems to be coming from where the Fuel Pressure Regulator is but I dont know if thats the problem. Has anyone heard of this? I have new fuel pump, injectors, spark plugs.. Im another part away from ripping my hair out.

Have you ever heard this noise before though? I placed a cone right on top of the fuel pressure regulator and the sound seems to be coming directly from this spot. But I want to get some opinions on the problem.

Same here! I wish I was home so I could make a detailed video. Thing is that injectors were flow tested, fuel pump is new and I know for a fact that its sending pressure up to the fuel filter, spark plugs are new, timing belt got replaced but I dont know if the timing belt could possibly be off by a tooth. I carefully aligned everything on the timing belt though even matched the line on the belt itself.

Since we are playing the guessing game and you just enlightend us that you also did a timing belt, can you provide any other details of things that you have done before the non start issue.
1, timing belt 2, injectors 3???? |

You hook up your fuel lines right? As in the supply line is going to your injectors and the return to the FPR? My friend did this and it sounded like this if I remember. He swore that it was hooked up right and then we switched them and it fired right up. Just throwing things out there. Hard to say without looking at the car.

![]() I basically had this happen to me, luckily I was going <1mph when the car stalled. I go the car home in a tow truck not knowing what was going on or what happened. I attempted to start the car at home and that hissing noise was present then but I didnt make much of it. But after I figured what happened I replaced belt, injectors, spark plugs, fuel pump, clutch, pressure plate and all timing pulleys including water pump. |

Check your compression, then start looking at the injector harness, making sure they are in the correct location. I am going to bet the timing is still off.

I will check the timing belt as soon as I get home. I remember aligning everything and double checking about 10 times all the notches.

Make sure you research the timing belt install too.
I see this is a Hybrid, 2.5L block on 2.0L heads? |
