Default Weird issue with radio/hvac display, interior lights, open door bong and keyless entr

I've been building a motor for my legacy and it's been sitting for close to a year now. It's been inside a pretty clean shop for the whole time with no exposure to the elements. I have the car up and running now but now the only issues i have are:

1. Radio/hvac/clock display isn't working. No sound is heard when toggling the power button for the radio. Interestingly enough, the hvac controls actually work, but the display doesn't. The heat and AC work, as does the fan speed controls. The red lights on the buttons themselves work, the cigarette lighter, seat heaters all work. clock display above the vents does not show as well.

2. Interior lights dont work at all. door ajar function or by manual.

3. door bong is missing.

4. keyless entry not working. new battery installed.

when typing in these things into google, I actually get a couple of threads from other subies and DSM's about this particular group of things not working. As per those threads, I've physically checked EVERY fuse and also used a multimeter to double check as well.

Any suggestions or advice will be greatly appreciated.

20 buck paypal'd to the person that figures it out! if you're close enough... i'll even treat ya to dinner! w/e you want

First, what is the year and model of the vehicle we are talking about here. It sounds like there may be multiple issues here unless they all tie to a common fused power source.

Lets start the hunt by verifying that power is getting to all the fuses in the dash using your meter if you haven't done that already. If that checks out then lets move on to the dash lighting issue. Check to see if power is getting to the violet wire going to the dash lights. If you have power there then the lighting module is suspect or the wiring to it.

the car is an 05 subaru legacy gt. I'll check that first thing tomorrow morning. but I checked just about every fuse with the meter. where are the relays located on the legacy's? i'm thinking that route...

Just got my car back from the shop and a similar thing was happening to my car. 05 wrx. Some wires must have caused a short or something cause it turned out to be my heater control unit and it was causing problems with my radio and air fan speed. Sounds like cougar4 has a good game plan.

the issue ended up being a PDI fuse that was put in the wrong slot. A friend of mine that was building his car next to mine borrowed it since in the fuse box... the pdi fuse sits right next to an open "extra fuse" socket and it looks pretty isolated from the rest of the fuses and relays. my buddy thought it was just an extra 20a fuse and when he returned it... he put it back into the "extra storage socket"

I preciate all the help tho boys, thanks alot!
