Default 2013 XV Crosstrek hit & run =(

Hi Everyone, unfortunately some no good ***hole did a hit & run on my mom's brand new (<400 miles on odometer) 2013 XV Crosstrek Premium CVT last night during the snowstorm in NYC. Found out from the pieces of his car that it was a 2002-2005 Ford Explorer XLT. The passenger side rear quarter panel is smashed in (interior plastic is cracked and nearly punched through), half of bumper ripped off, trunk door bent out of shape and doesn't close all the way, the rear passenger door doesn't close properly anymore either. My car was parked, next thing you know my mom looked out the window and the rear end of her car was on the sidewalk. Didn't see any of it happen, just the aftermath =\.

So today i had to move the car to the other side of the street and i noticed the car jerks when i change the gear between R>N>D. Even with the brakes pressed, when i move it into reverse i hear a slight whining noise and then it jerks the car. The car seems to move around fine, but i can't go above a few mph since the rear quarter panel is rubbing up against the tires. I doubt my insurance will total the car since its value is so high, does anybody else with a 2012-2013 Impreza CVT or 2013 XV Crosstrek notice this about their CVT transmission? What can i do about this besides claim insurance and take it to the best auto body shop i can find?

Claim insurance and take it to the best auto body shop you can find

It sucks but that's life, and why you have insurance

There is a delay and the cvt does jerk a bit according to other cvt owners. My hit and run was about 1500

Could you find out for me if your car makes a slight and brief whining noise when you put it into reverse the next time you drive your car?

i have a 5spd there is a thread on nasioc about the cvt shift delay and also the jerking. check the impreza section as for the whining noise you can get an answer quicker by just also posting in the shift delay thread.
