Default Possibly bad plug?

So i'm a bit confused with what's the issue with my car. About one in every 10 times I downshift into second I'll go to rev match and hear a distinct pop and my RPMs wont raise, almost as if the car is misfiring. I've logged the car numerous times for misfires and never see anything out of the norm during the event. I figured maybe the car might be knocking, but again the logged shows nothing. It's very hard to get any data on this because it is basically not reproducable what-so-ever

Some information about my car: 08 WRX with about 50k miles, vf39 and all support mods to run E85 (injectors, intake, tmic, tbe, ect). I'm pretty OCD about all my maintence so my fluids are all changed regularly, I log the car at least once a week, and every month or so I check ethanol content of the e85 stations i frequent.

My tuner is fairly stumped because again it's almost impossible to catch the event in a log (and when I have it was a 45 minute cruising log, so actually finding it was fun ), and even when I did there was basically no data that pointed us in any direction. I'm e-tuned so diagnosising problems is a little bit of a challenge. My only idea is that I may have a plug that is going bad, but even that seems like a stretch to me. If anyone has had a similar situation, or some direction I could investigate I'd appreciate your feed back.

The reason I haven't mess with the plugs is because I am not throwing any misfire codes and the car idles and runs perfectly the majority of the time. I drive about 60ish miles a day to work and back and maybe experience what I've described in the original post possibly once, sometimes not at all. My drive includes a lot of shifting and what not as it is not 60 miles of all highway. I'm really not sure if this is even that big of an issue or something I shouldn't worry about, but when I step on the pedal, hear a weird noise, and the revs don't climb I get a bit suspecious.

I've checked the fuel filter and it looks fine. How can I tell if the injectors are clogged? Wouldn't that results in wacky AFR's all over the place though? They are ID 1000's that have been on the car for about 9 months, purchased them brand new.

you can not LOOK at a fuel filter and tell if it is good or not

replace it if there is any doubt....and it isnt the injectors, i think....but you could run some injector cleaner through it and leave no doubt

The fuel filter is less then 15k old, and the injectors are the same. I visually inspected the fuel filter and it looks clean. I have not taken the injectors out yet, but when I do what exactly should I look for, or would it be better to simply run some cleaner through them? If so what do you suggest (seafoam?).

The plugs are the OEM ones and have been on the car for 50k miles or so. I think I shall replace them just to be safe. What are suggestions? I'm making about 300/350 with my vf39 on E85, so nothing huge, but a fair amount more then stock.

Any suggestion on plugs?
