Default Rent an Impreza

Well given all that has gone down, I need to make a cross country trip and I would really like an Impreza for it, does anyone know who carries subaru's in all the national rent-a-car chains?

in that movie Due-Date Zach Gilifinakis was able to rent one, and I wanna be just like him

Hahahahah, I'm not sure...

If you manage to find one, just don't flip it like they did in the movie.

It depends a lot on your region. They rent out Legacies and Foresters up here in Alaska.

Why don't you rent something with better gas mileage for a cross country trip?

was thinking the same thing... or creature comforts. Subaru's have never been known to rank high in that department. If I'm doing a mindless cross country marathon drive, I want some big old person car!

Yeah, why do you want to drive an Impreza so badly?

Cross Country trip? Get an Acura TL. Quiet, refined ride, great gas mileage.

Or a Focus, or a Prius, or something else that's going to get even better mileage but not be all that loud and bouncy for 2500 miles of road...

I love Subarus (as we all do) but they're nothing exceptional on the highway.

Do yourself a favor and rent a comfortable
car that gets 40mpg on the freeway. Compared to a 28mpg ride you'll save $120 in gas over 3000mi

FYI from a Dollar employee (me ):

Just remember that if you're reserving an Impreza, you're not reserving for the car itself; you're reserving its class size, ie COMPACT. If there's no Impreza available, you are going to get another compact vehicle (Chevy Cruze, Ford Focus, Kia Forte, etc.)

When it comes to fleet/rental cars, compacts for the most part DO NOT have Cruise Control, but that mostly applies to the USDM cars (idk why but the base model compact USDM cars were almost always like that, unlike the imports). I'm not sure how much that matters to you, but considering you're going cross country, you might need it.

Because you are going cross country, I'm guessing you're gonna be dropping off the car at another location? Keep in mind companies charge DROP/INTER-CITY fees, usually in the neighborhood of $200-$400, to deter people from scattering their fleet wherever they choose to. If you are dropping off your rental at another location, you will probably be given a car with high mileage, usually around 30-40k miles because keeping lower mileage cars brings in more customers.

Best rental imo: Ford Fusion 4cyl. Cruise control and amazing mpg.
Avoid ALL 4cyl Dodge vehicles. Weak as hell and mpg is crap.

I live in Phoenix, and would like to rent a 2012 or 2013 Impreza for a day trip to Northern Arizona. I'd like to see how the car performs at 7,000 ft. altitude before buying one.

Is there a possibility that I can rent an Impreza at the Phoenix Airport?

Or if not in Phoenix, anyplace in the western USA?
