Thumbs up 08+ 2.5i/WRX front donors for Koni inserts

on hold since it really looks like the 11+WRX shares the same front struts as the previous models even with the STi wide body...

Just a small suggestion. The front struts from the sti will not work on your wrx stock.

would you care to explain?

I now own a '12 WRX with the same wide body as the STi so the stut base as the same "width". Which is the reason I had to find new donors at the first place since there's about a 3/4" difference between the 2.5i/base-WRX and the WRX/STi strut construction.

The only thing I can think about would be that the knuckle flag is beefier and/or the 2 holes are not configured at the same location, but I strongly doubt that! The only real suspension difference between a 11+ WRX and a 08+ STi is the inverted front shock, which I already stripped apart (see my other FS thread here) because the only thing I need is the Macperson body itself...

This. Unless you plan to drill to realign the holes they won't fit up. The only part that's interchangeable is the rear setup.

Price drop... 100$ OBO

Get the best street/track setup for any spirited drivers that is looking for a better suspension component than any knockoff coilover available in the market...

More details about the Sport (aka "Yellow") inserts on Koni's website:

The STI struts won't fit your car.

The width of the strut attachment on the knuckle is wider on the STI than the WRX, even on the new 11-13 WRXs. The strut hole spacing is also different.

For the Konis on your car you need to use WRX or 2.5i struts. You might as well keep what you have. You'll get more camber using the 2.5i/08-10 WRX struts anyway.
