Default Painted steel wheels

So I had a idea of getting some steel wheels for winter before my car is delivered to the dealership. Then I began to think about how plain the black rims look. I then came up with painting them bronze.
So is there anyone out there that has painted them to make then look nicer or have any other ideas for winter wheels?

What color is your car going to be?

Yeah, it's whatever you want to do, freedom of expression and all that jazz.

Personally, I would look for some OEM alloy wheels or something, and put the winter wheels on those.
Steel wheels are fine, but in my opinion they look like base model car wheels.

The car will be black. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on winter rims but that's not a bad idea.

the only option for steel wheels are the honda Crv steel wheels.

http://www.iwsti.com/forums/gd-tires...tion-pics.html

Personally I perfer the 05-07 BBS wheels on the 3rd Gen body sti for a winter option.

I could be off base about being the "only" option, but I do believe its because of brembo clearances bolt pattern and offset.

Well I took your advise on some OEM wheels. The Subaru Tribeca wheels: 18X8, 55 offset, & 56.1 center bore. I got them used at the stealership for $720. They came silver & dirty. I sanded them with some 400 grit and cleaned up the edges with some 120.
I bought a few cans of antique brass paint and some gloss black. Plan is to paint the surface brass and the inside & lip area black. I'll post pics tomorrow or tonight. They should come out pretty awesome for winter wheels!

Am i reading that correctly? You paid $720 for some used wheels? Why not just buy new rims for the summer and use your stock for the winter?

Because his stock wheels are 18" BBSs, although for that amount he could have bought some decent aftermarket wheels for winter.

Okay gotcha but still I wouldn't pay $720 for USED wheels. I bought my Enkei's for somewhere around $150/wheel minus shipping of course.

Could have gotten a set of last gen Sti BBS wheels for that price.

You replied before I did. I was replying to SLDWYS. My bad. He said, "Stockers for winter." I was disgusted at the mental image. I even tried Googling a pic and came up empty, because it IS an atrocious thought.

To many people to quote... Where to start.

Well they are Subaru rims that'll fit without any problems. The rims are maybe a year old so there was minimal to 0 damage. I paid 0 in shipping. The stock runs are nice and getting ones better/nicer for summer would be more than I want to spend on rims right now. I know some of you don't understand why that much for used rims but when I'm finished painting them you will understand.
