http://www.danielsternlighting.com/p.../products.html

taken from the above....

60/55W Ultra High Output Plus 50 (Narva Rangepower+50*): $19/ea

60/55W Narva Rangepower High Output Plus 30: $13/ea

70/65W Osram Plus 50: $22/ea

85/80W Osram Plus 50: $24/ea

100/55W Narva: $17/ea

100/90W Narva: $20/ea

130/100W Narva: $22/ea

*- About H4 +50 Bulb Brands:
The H4 +50 bulbs from the big four reputable European bulb makers (Philips VisionPlus, Osram SilverStar, Narva RangePower+50, Tungsram Megalicht) are functionally identical. When we pick ten samples of each and put each one through photometric, optical comparator and life tests, there's a very narrow range of performance and life differences, and those differences are randomized among the four brands.

i would refrain from using any of the ones below the top 2 in factory housings as they may cause damage(almost certainly WILL cause damage)

too much wattage = meltage so I would agree, stick with the top two. (maybe the 3rd one)

Daniel Stern website shows same offerings since the early 2000s, looking for new tech and more descriptive details, pics, etc.

Anyone tried these:

OK...H1 bulbs are a bit different.

i think ya gotta be careful with some of those new bulbs as they may draw too much current and start melting things

beware

nightbreakers get a thumbs up from me.
as far as "new tech" in H1 bulbs, I would expect most of the new stuff to be more gimic than anything else.

The stuff on Stern's website remains true even if it's doesn't show the newest hottest stuff.
He's kind of THE reference when it comes to lighting, like the dictionary is when you're trying to cheat at scrabble. Don't dick around trying to find stuff on your own, go to the cheat sheet.

also the night tech PIAA's look like they have a coating on them?
if you see coating, you're losing light output to add coloration.

(except on HIR bulbs as I think they have a visible coating that makes them work properly and be the second best light after HID's in proper housings)

Not sure about coating being detrimental, here is stock vs Philips Power X-tremes which have coloration.

See the hallo around the X-tremes, more light output despite the coloration in the tip.

passenger stock, driver X-treme

passenger stock, driver X-treme, larger diameter more powerful hallo.

yellowish stock passenger side, bright white X-treme driver side.

I am not going back to Power X-tremes due to longevity, lasted about a year. I may try their new offering "third option" X-treme Vision.

the coloration just at the tip probably doesn't influence output much (I think most of the light that ends up down the road comes out the sides of the bulb.)
