So I wanted to just give a quick review to this terrible up pipe I bought. I went on eBay and found the cheapest non flex up pipe I could fine. It cost me roughly $55 shipped. First thing to note was the egt bung had no bottom so the factory sensor wouldn't ever work. Second, the flanges on top and bottom were warped causing the already threaded holes to be pointed outward when you thread in studs (had to actually bend the studs straight so the turbine housing would slide onto them). Third and most important, the pipe is about 3/8" shorter. Its hard to tell this when the pipes are laying next to eachother but obvious when installing it on the car. However the bend was right and the welds look nice. I ended up cutting a flange of off my factory up pipe and using it as a spacer to work. I recommend buying the real deal because you know what they say..... "you get what you pay for"

First there is no EGT in the UP, it's an O2 sensor for the 02-03 wrx folks. And putting an aftermarket EGT in the UP isn't the best place to put it.
Second, I had no problems at all with my ebay UP on my '05 STi. <shrug> |

there is an egt in all bug eyes. cat or not. there is one from the factory and it will throw a check light if its not there or broken, unless you have the resistor mod.
which up pipe do you have? if its the one with the flex section, i dont have any experience with that. |
