I sure do. I was directly behind it when it happened.

A lot of people are speculating that the McLaren stole the apex. This is how far away from the turn the McLaren actually hit a barrier. The barrier is 5000 lbs from my understanding, and rebar reinforced; the rebar ALL snapped from the impact.

Fast forward to 0:25 to HEAR the impact. It's that hard. You can catch a glimpse of my car at 0:35

Lots of those involved are keeping tightlipped on this incident. Can't say I blame them, becuase if the rumors are to be believed, this is the 2nd McLaren that driver has wrecked, and the one above wasn't even his.

That more than likely means some kind of litigation as the owner of the McLaren seeks to get his money back from the borrower (since insurance won't cover it), and the borrower may try to pin the blame on someone else so he doesn't have to come up with all or some of the cash.

This is why I will never let people borrow my car(s). It's not selfish. It's protection.

I was pulling into 86fest as the McLaren was leaving on the flatbed. All I could say was ouch.

Same. Even if I completely trust the person as a driver far more competent than myself, I decline the "Lets swap cars" propositions on the track.

So long as you don't plan on getting on the stand and saying something different, there's absolutely nothing to worry about.

I guess it would matte rif you are trying to hide and not thus not be dragged into court. But what fun is that? Or if you've been paid by one of the parties to keep your mouth shut. In which case I understand...

It was a public incident, certainly something that's OK to talk about.
