Front cv axle help

Not sure if this is in the right section, so sorry. I have a 2008 wrx sedan with a leaking outer boot on the front passenger side. Im just going to replace the shaft. So i call 2 subaru dealers and they are telling me the wrx takes a different axle than just the 2.5 impreza, i find this hard to believe. Can someone confirm if they are the same? Thank you

Looked it up and seeems they are all the same. $50 online most places.

Thanks. Ive looked at ebay and almost all of them say "except sti" which i understand because the sti is wider. But even a ebayer sent me a message and said the impreza would not fit the wrx. Im thinking people do not know what they are talking about...
