Default EJ253 from 99RS into 00RS w/ EJ251?

I searched but couldn't find any information on this swap. Basically, the motor in my 2000 2.5RS is shot. I have found a 99 RS parts car that I can pull the motor out of. I believe the 99 has a MAF and my 00 has a MAP. Could I just use the wiring that's in the car and swap over the EJ251 intake manifold?

Just wondering if anyone has done this before I attempt it! Any advice would be appreciated!

Dave

Yes just swap the intake manifolds and everything on it over and it works fine.

Getting some conflicting information from other people. Anyone else care to chime in?

I think (but not 100% sure) that the 99 has a 9.7:1 compression ratio, where the 00-01 have a 10:1. But if they do turn out to be the same, all you have to do is keep your current intake manifold/exhaust and you should be good to go.
