Default SRS Type RE

Hello everyone, about two years ago I was looking to get a catback for my wrx. I'm cheap so I searched ebay and looked into the cobb replica (surewinproducts) exhaust, and I looked into the srs catbacks. I wanted an exhaust that was free flowing and would do what I wanted it to do without being too loud. So I didn't like the idea of a mellon shooter catback, and I just kinda skipped over the cobb replica, at that time srs came out with their new exhaust that wasn't a mellon shooter and it had a resonator. So I got the catback and after installing it I liked it right away. My mods before installing the catback were an erz uppipe and erz downpipe, sri, grimmspeed ebcs, tune, stock catback on an 02 wrx. When doing normal city driving you could hardly tell the difference in sound but there is a slight difference(deeper tone), now when going wot you could definitely tell you got an exhaust Anyway its sounds clean, no raspiness, just a clean deep rumble. The best thing that I like about this exhaust is it doesn't have ANY drone at all during highway speeds. The reason I waited two years before writing a review is I wanted to see if the flanges crack, if it gets louder(which it hasn't at all, actually feels like it got quieter but I just probably got used to it), and if it rusts. So after having this thing for two years its rust free, it still sounds good and does the job. Fitment was ok, one thing I don't like though is that the exhaust tip sticks out too much for my taste(about 1/2-1" past the bumper cover). I will take videos soon and post them up.

^Good to hear its lasted that long without issue.

I have the same catback and have been very happy with it.

I've considered this catback....because I'm a college student really. I keep coming across it and like the sound. Every once in a while I do a search on here to see if anyone has put any reviews after having this exhaust for a bit.

It's nice to see that people have had it...and for a while with no real issues. I may just bite the bullett and get it instead of waiting to pick up something like a borla hush or the invidia q300 (I'm looking for something not ridiculously loud)

I'd personally consider powder coating...but only because of the crappy North East winters and the excessive salt put down on roads.

this exhaust sounds similar to a q300, I just wanted to try the exhaust. It went up in price though, IIRC i paid $220 shipped.

Nice. I assume you got it off an ebay vendor?

In my opinion, for the price it may be worth the try...especially if I coat it to try and fight off rusting....but at the same time I wonder if I should save that $250ish and buy a used catback like an SPT, Borla, Invidia. I'm so indecisive :-(

How about posting pictures of how it looks now?

Yes I got it off of ebay, I don't remember the seller thogh. SPT IMO doesn't sound as good as this catback, I haven't heard borla in person, like I said it sounds similar to the q300 but the q300 sounds even smoother. I am still working on pics and videos.
