Default Hella horns! Anyone else?

Installed some Hells Supertone horns tonight. It was one of the first things that i wanted to do when i got the car. Tonight it was a done project. There was modification of the harness and bracket.

Id say this is a 1/4 write up. Didn't really take many pictures at all. if anyone has any questions, just ask!

Bumper off, not too hard. Just a couple of 10 mm bolts and snap pins.

Stock horn locations. One behind the fog light area on the passenger side. Another is visible though the grille on the passenger side.

Had to cut the factory harness off and splice in some clips. Everything was soldered and heat shrunk. Do it that way because everything is super secure!

Made a bracket out of material i had lying around. Someone said to put them like this so I gave it a shot! -Also had to leave my mark on my bumper beam :-)

Finished product!

Thank you!

-Dan

Do hella's have any sort of cover over them?

I'd be worried about those getting hit with road debris since the BRZ grille sits so low.

There is a grille over the horns, made so that nothing hits the actual drum of the horn.

I've already admitted that this is not a write-up.

Glad to see another install, and I like that the placement is a bit unique. I have some similar horns (Spyder I think...almost spec for spec exactly like Hellas) and haven't put them on because I just can't decide WHERE. Sometimes I miss the upper grill on my wrx and sti...

I agree too, the opening on these grills are too vast and large nowhere made them look good really.

I do agree, I debated on doing them for some time and then decided to give it a shot. I think they look pretty good and came out great!

I think some kind of mesh will help. I did a DIY job on my WRX and loved it, just haven't really bothered to with the new car yet. I hate seeing all the crap behind the grate.

Keep us posted on your mesh solution, please. I think it would look kind of tacky behind all the plastic, but maybe up front and under the mouthguard piece might be kind of cool?
