Default Replaced Rotors/pads on 08 WRX, now issues: poss ABS?

I can't find anything on here super similar to my issue, so I'll ask.
Just changed the oil, replaced teh battery, and did rotors and pads on my 08 WRX. To do the pads, I opened the brake bleeder on the rotor and used a c-clamp and old brake pad to compress the pistons and get them on. Some fluid came out, seemed normal. Did everything according to what I read here and read on the box.
I went to bed the pads or whatever, and when I'd brake moderately as noted on the HAWK box, the traction control light would come on. Then on the third time, the car shut off. Battery light, just the usual lights when it goes off. Was super subtle, did even notice, it just slowly died. So I bedded the pads, this happened about 4 times. Took it home, reset the ECU.
I took it around the block, hit the brakes hard from 35mph, right before I stopped the traction control light flashed on. Didn't seem like an issue. THen right as I went to pull in my driveway, steering wheel was turned 90 degrees, I was on the brakes lightly and the clutch was in, and the car died. Just a strange issue.
Did I mess up the ABS somehow and it's causeing the car to die? It's not bogging down, it's happening with the clutch fully depressed.

I'm stumped, and there are no local Subaru dealers. I'd rather take care of it myself if possible. I'm in the middle of nowhere, TX right now and they look at foreign cars like they are spaceships. Any advise would be much appreciated.

Wait,

You opened the bleeders on the calipers just to compress the piston?? Why did you do that? You can compress the piston without opening the bleeder. Just take the cap off of the master cylinder.

If you opened the bleeders you will need to properly bleed the brake system to get air out.

I'll try that. Guy at the auto parts store told me otherwise. So air in the system would be causing the car to power off? Brakes felt fine...

I don't think air in the system could be causing the car to turn off. The car turning off is probably related to something else you did at the same time.

But opening the bleeders can/will definitely introduce some air into the system which should be taken care of. Maybe air in the system can cause the abs system to act funky. I'm really just speculating but it can't hurt to properly bleed the brakes and go from there.
