Default Ebay short shifter

So I haven't seen any new review in while on this so I decided to make one. Recently I decided to purchase a short shifter. I was able to scoop one up on ebay for $21 and free shipping. I was skeptical at first, but hey what the hell, a metal rod is a metal rod. Upon receiving it, I was impressed with the quality of the welds and overall how it felt.

Next day I set out to install it, took about 5 minutes and now my shifter is about +- 1 1/2 inch shorter of a throw. Overall, I would recommend this to anyone on a budget.

The shifter is a narrow shifter. This means there will be some slop. I fixed the slop by creating my own bushings . if anyone wants a DIY, pm me

Actually quite well. It seems to be a quality product. After I made the nylon bushings, that seemed to complete the entire feel of the shifter. The throw is a lot shorter than in comparison to stock shifter. If you look at my 2nd picture, you can see that my linkage was rubbing against the metal bracket (this being due to the pivot point of the shifter being higher), so I actually took an angle grinder and dremel and removed a couple cm of metal from the bracket. Haven't had any issues at all! I cannot be happier with the short shifter.

Yes it will (my car is an 03 wrx). Narrow shifters are more universal for scoobs. I believe the 2.5rs and some STis have narrow from factory, the wrx seems to be the only one to be wide. From a company stand point, it'll be a helluva cheaper to make one shifter (narrow) which is cross compatible with any of the cars.
