Default Led Courtesy Lights

Well, I'm tired of having a lack of door courtesy lights at night (I just love stepping in puddles), so I'm trying to wire up a couple led strips underneath the side skirt.

My main goal here is to have the lights turn on when unlocking the car (i.e. wired to the dome light). However, I cannot seem to trace back the dome light wiring and really didn't want to have to take off the whole headliner.

If anyone could please direct me as to where the wiring might be located so that I can tap/solder the led wiring in that would be of great help!

I tried searching, but could only find those who tap into the footwell lights (of which I don't have).

Thanks in advance!

No worries - it can take a little time but the parts are inexpensive & the result is nice

Just to mention that Hella makes a number of quality LED fixtures suitable for this purpose. Rallylights carries a good selection.
