I have a 2012 WRX and was wondering what seasons I could use the stock tires in? I'm buying Winter Tires / Wheels soon; but is it safe to use the OEM Dunlops during Spring / Fall or should I use the Winter Tires in the Winter / Autum and Summers during Summer / Spring only?

I heard that below 50 Degrees, the stock Summer Tires become useless :/. I don't wanna die :,( !!!

TL;DR :

Is it safe to use the Stock Dunlop Tires during Autumn / Spring / Fall?

You can use your summer tires all year round. Is it recommended, no. I've had the pleasure of using the summer tires in a light snow dusting and that was terrifying.

I think when the forecasts say it's going to be<42.37 is when you should switch out your tires.

It is usually not adisable to drive summer tires through snow, ice and in near and below freezing temperatures. When exactly change over may depend on events. Last year we had snow storm on Oct 28 and then next one in March.
It is better to be on winter (winter performance at least) too early in the Fall than on summers too long. Then in Spring it is better to be too long on winter performance tires than on summers too soon.
It is balancing act. Studless winter tires have slightly different switchover times as they suck in wet and dry badly.
